Dr Shailinder Sodhi
Dr Shailinder Sodhi BAMS, N.D., President Ayush Herbs, INC, Faculty Member Bastyr University
Dr Shailinder Sodhi was born in Himachal Pradesh, India. Growing up near the Himalayas, he developed an early interest in Ayurvedic plants and herbs. His interest grew into a passion, and in 1985 he received his B.A.M.S. (Bachelor in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) degree from Dayanand Ayurvedic College in Jalandhar, India.
To continue his medical education, Dr Sodhi moved to the United States. In 1993 he received a degree in naturopathic medicine from Bastyr University, a world leader and internationally known university-recognized school of natural medicine in Kenmore, Washington. He also received a degree in diagnostic ultrasound from Bellevue Community College in Bellevue, Washington, and is a Registered Medical Sonographer.
Dr Sodhi practices naturopathic medicine along with his wife, Dr Anju Sodhi, and his brother, Dr Virender Sodhi, at the Ayurvedic and Naturopathic Medical Clinic in Bellevue, Washington, where they treat patients from all over the world. Dr Shailinder Sodhi also visits Kauai, Hawaii to treat patients there.
Dr Sodhi has many talents. In addition to practicing medicine, he serves as President of Ayush Herbs Inc., which manufactures high-quality Ayurvedic herbal formulas in Redmond, Washington. He is also an adjunct faculty member at Bastyr University, where he has taught since 1998. He also writes. His articles have been published in several natural health magazines, including Health Services Research, Whole Foods Magazine, and Vitamin Retailer. During his free time, he loves to hike, sing, compose music, and play basketball with his three children.
